Rwanda - 2020 year-end report - Issues and Challenges

The COVID-19 pandemic posed the greatest challenge to the smooth implementation of projects. The national lockdown that was imposed around mid- March until the third week of May 2020, was also followed by a complete freeze on all activities with the exception of essential life-saving activities.

The impact of the lockdown was far reaching as its effects were felt across economic activities of all sectors. Urban refugees were hardest hit by the lockdown as camp-based refugees had sustained humanitarian assistance. The education sector was also affected as schools were closed for the most part.
