Global financial needs amount to $725 million (-5% vs 2024 current budget)

In many countries, it is increasingly difficult for people who have been forced to flee to reach safe territory and have their basic rights recognized, including the right to international protection. In 2025, UNHCR will intervene to prevent and respond to refoulement, support protection-sensitive border management, and register more people who have been forced to flee, whether in new emergencies or long-term refugee situations. Two groundbreaking new technology tools will improve the way UNHCR and its partners protect and assist people in need.
