In 2015, 19,716 new individuals (12,319 cases) were registered, with an average of 1,025 new applications per month. 7,006 cases were scheduled for refugee status determination interviews, out of which 3,562 cases were showed and interviewed and a decision was recommended in 3,311 cases
Legal aid partners provided legal assistance to 111 cases in need of birth certificates. This minimized the risk of statelessness and enabled access to government and partner services, particularly in the areas of health and education. In 2015, a total of 665 children were registered and issued with birth certifications.

A total of 1,653 unaccompanied and separated children (UASC) were registered with UNHCR, which represented 85 per cent increase as compared to 2014. UNHCR was able to provide cash assistance to 750 UASC.

UNHCR supported 11,920 students with education grants to increase their access to public, private and refugee community schools. UNHCR provided additional financial assistance to the most vulnerable students whose parents are unable to pay their education fees and related expenses, and provided children with special needs with tailored financial support to ensure access to suitable educational institutes meeting their educational and care needs.

UNHCR assisted refugee students sitting the Sudanese final examination with the payment of the exam fees of USD 70-100. 

Through its partner, UNHCR assisted 166 individuals with livelihood programmes including entrepreneurship and business training, wage-employment and grants for business start-up in 2015. In addition, 210 people participated in vocational and language training for livelihoods purposes.

A total of 52,874 visits were recorded for primary health care and 19,845 referrals for secondary and tertiary care. Assistive devices and rehabilitation care was offered to 366 people of concern living with disabilities. Some 922 new expecting mothers received antenatal care among whom 33 women were identified as high risk pregnancy cases and received needed specialized referral care.  UNHCR assisted 63 refugees to repatriate, largely to Sudan. All those repatriated were provided with an air-ticket, and transport assistance for in country travel which amounts to USD 100 per for the principal applicants and USD 50 for dependants with a maximum of 600 USD per family.

UNHCR submitted 3,206 non-Syrian refugees for resettlement surpassing the annual target of 2,000. The majority of the population submitted were Sudanese (1,937), including smaller numbers of Somalis (341), Eritreans (279), Ethiopians (229), Iraqis (231) and others (189). In total, 2,025 refugees departed for resettlement to 11 different countries. The majority were Sudanese (1,090) followed by Somali (354) and 581 people from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Iraq and other different nationalities.

UNHCR provided unconditional cash grants range from USD 51 to 153. During the year, 9,200 people on average were provided with monthly cash grants to meet their basic needs. In addition to monthly assistance, UNHCR and partners provided some 600 emergency cash grants during the course of the year. These grants are one-off cash payments made under exceptional circumstances. UNHCR also provided seasonal cash support in winter to 8,500 beneficiaries USD 25.50 per person.
