Thailand hosts 82,400 refugees from Myanmar in nine temporary shelters along the Thai-Myanmar border while some 5,300 urban refugees and asylum-seekers reside in other areas. In addition, the Royal Thai Government (RTG) has registered over half a million stateless people, mostly living in highland border areas. UNHCR works with the RTG, international agencies, and NGOs to address the protection and durable solutions needs of these groups.
