UNHCR's office in the Czech Republic maintains long-standing cooperation agreements with the government, supporting national efforts to ensure refugees, asylum-seekers, and other forcibly displaced individuals can access protection services and other essential services.

In Slovakia, UNHCR supports the government in providing protection and assistance to refugees from Ukraine, as well as other forcibly displaced and stateless people. Through a wide network of partners, UNHCR works to strengthen the socioeconomic inclusion and livelihoods of refugees through job counselling, vocational training, language courses, and workplace access activities, thereby increasing self-reliance, empowerment, and integration of refugees in Slovakia.

In Hungary, UNHCR collaborates with the government and a broad network of partners to support Ukrainian refugees, advocating for access to social protection for all Temporary Protection beneficiaries and working with stakeholders to align Hungary's asylum system with European Union and international law.

UNHCR maintains a presence in Slovenia, supporting national authorities in strengthening the asylum system and in the provision of access to protection, social services and employment. UNHCR also promotes enhanced access to solutions, such as inclusion, resettlement and complementary pathways.
