Myanmar Earthquake Emergency Appeal

In Myanmar, an estimated 20 million people live in earthquake-affected areas and have been impacted to varying degrees. By 3 April, the death toll had surpassed 3,000, with over 4,500 people injured. As search and rescue efforts continue, these figures are expected to climb. Myanmar’s de facto authorities have declared a state of emergency and have issued a request for international aid.

UNHCR has launched an emergency appeal seeking $15.9 million to deliver life-saving protection and assistance to 1.2 million people affected by the earthquake, including internally displaced persons (IDPs) and their host communities.
