The 2021 South Sudan Regional Refugee Response Plan (RRRP) outlines the multi-agency response strategy and financial requirements of 93 partners supporting host governments to provide protection and assistance across the five main asylum countries: the DRC, Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan and Uganda.
In 2021, the RRRP is expected to cater for some 2.3 million South Sudanese refugees in the five asylum countries, and to support some 1.8 million members of impacted host communities. Inter-agency partners are appealing for some US$ 1.2 billion for the implementation of the multi-sectoral response activities. In 2021, RRRP partners will prioritize the strengthening of national child protection systems including birth registration, family reunification and alternative care placement, as well as enhancing access to quality education. The RRRP takes a comprehensive and solutions-oriented approach with emphasis on the inclusion of refugees in national systems and integrated service delivery with host communities to the extent possible.
