Mozambique - Internally displaced persons in Mozambique

2020

Data collected during UNHCR protection monitoring exercises, showcases precarious shelter conditions, increasing risks for children, women, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Moreover, a lack of sustainable livelihood opportunities continues to be largely unaddressed. The destruction, loss, or inexistence of civil documentation has led to challenges in accessing basic services, such as education, health and housing, land and property (HLP) rights, compromising the sustainability of IDPs living conditions. Finally, tensions with host communities over aid distribution, service accessibility and pre-existing livelihood activities persist.
