Education

2017

On a prioritized basis, UNHCR will endeavour to maintain the current level of standard in the sector, particularly at primary education level. Insufficient funding will result in poor quality and suboptimal access to education, youth idleness, delinquent behaviours and potential protection risks among others. Additionally, the quality of education will continue to dwindle both in primary and secondary schools. Lack of school uniforms, textbooks and other scholastic supplies will contribute to increased school truancy and dropouts. Moreover, limited funding might jeopardize the implementation of Form 6 and Grade 6 exams which are organized in liaison with education officials of the Democratic Republic fo the Congo, hence school children will not be certified upon completion of their school studies.
