Results
Medical care: during the 12 months of project implementation in 2020, medical care services were offered to people of concern in the different accommodation sites (transit houses, humanitarian center). In total, 13513 medical consultations were recorded, of which 12510 were recorded by the medical team of the NGO APBE, i.e. 92.58% (9332 at the Humanitarian Centre and 3178 at the CSI/TOUDOU and the triage in the huts) and 599 referrals to other state health resources in Agadez, i.e. 4.43% (CSI, CSME and CHR), 404 medical screenings of new arrivals and people of concern who have travelled, i.e. 2.99%. During this year, 741 cases of malaria were recorded, 1 case of acute malnutrition was recorded during screening and 08 chronic patients were identified. The most frequent pathologies were digestive disorders with 30.67% and respiratory disorders with 23.84%. A total of 27 pregnant women were monitored and 16 of them gave birth normally. All births were reported to the local registry office. 31 women accepted the use of contraceptives. About 6007 people of concern and the local population were sensitized on FP, hygiene and sanitation, compliance with medication, prevention of Covid 19 and malaria prevention. Mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS): COOPI and MEDU partners provided psychosocial support and care to people with mental illness in people of concern' residence sites. During this year the MEDU team carried out 2285 psychological consultations for 243 patients, 1527 psychiatric consultations for 144 patients and 2119 psychosocial consultations for 387 beneficiaries (psychoeducation, awareness raising, theatre, music, and sports activities). 86 gender-based violence cases received regular psychological care and participated in psychosocial rehabilitation activities. In the COOPI transit house, psychosocial support services were offered (art therapy, graphic art, theatre, music, and dance). These activities were carried out by social workers under the supervision of the psychologist. Counselling and follow-up counselling were carried out by the psychologists, who verified the need to refer patients to the MEDU partner for a better adapted therapeutic path. During this year 103 people of concern benefited from counselling, of which 65 were followed up and 09 were referred to MEDU.
