Results
The activities related to the documentation of persons of concern were carried out in partnership with the Regional Directorate of Civil Status, Refugees and Migration (DREC-M-R). An individual proof of registration token containing basic biographical data and a colour photograph was issued to all registered people of concern. In addition, of the 14 new births registered during the year, DREC-M-R processed and issued 5 birth certificates. DREC-M-R also issued 643 travel permits to the people of concern to be transferred to Niamey for various reasons.
Constraints
Non-issuance of asylum-seeker's certificate after registration and delay in the distribution of refugee attestations to the recognized cases.
Lack of working space and installation of equipment in dust-free conditions.
Unmet needs
Lack of funding for staff capacity building (CNE agents and DREC-M-R interpreters).
